Our June Shooting Social is TOMORROW Saturday June 11th, and there are still spots remaining for Participants and Mentors!

Are you new to the shooting range, a newer shooter, first time handgun owner, or would you like to mentor someone who is?

Interested in going to the range, but nervous about going alone? Why not go with a bunch of experienced friends instead!

Tuesday was the June California primary election, and official results can be found here.

Did you vote? Did you donate?? Did you help a campaign???

Don't worry. There will be more opportunities to help make a positive change. OCGO will release a voter guide in a few months for the November election. We will definitely need your help! Stay tuned.

Costa Mesa City Council Letter H.R.8 Update

OCGO's Board Member, Jeff Pettis, brought to our attention early this week that the Costa Mesa City Council had added a Resolution to their City Council Meeting Agenda(See Page 14) with very little notice to it's council members to approve and issue a letter in support of the United States House of Representatives’ Resolution 8 (H.R. 8), the Bipartisan Background Checks Act of 2021.

We sent out a call to Action, and sent a letter to the Costa Mesa City Council Members in opposition to the letter as there was very little opportunity for community input on the matter.

The meeting video can be found here, and the discussion about the resolution is at 4hr 27min mark. Thank you to city Council Member Don Harper for standing up for those opposing this letter and getting a better understanding of the actual bill. Unfortunately the Resolution still passed, but we made our voices heard!

Jeff also put together a great video explaining the Federal bill H.R. 8 (Universal Background Checks) as it relates to the proposed Costa Mesa City Council letter sent to Congress by Resolution. You can watch his video here.

San Diego County to Vote to Sue Gun Manufacturers

Earlier this year, the San Diego County Board of Supervisors voted to make it impossible to home manufacture firearms by requiring a serial number of raw materials, for those who live in the unincorporated areas of San Diego County.

San Diego County Gun Owners is fighting back with a lawsuit against the original regulation pass in the City of San Diego: Fahr v. San Diego

The County is looking to attack our Second Amendment rights once again - this time by looking to allow litigation against gun manufacturers.

June 14 Agenda Item #15 (see pages 28-29)

ACTION ITEM: On June 14, the SD County Board of Supervisors will vote on suing gun manufacturers. Let the Board know that you oppose this idea. Send a polite and professional email to these three email addresses:
