THIS WEEK AT OCGO
Friend--
We're hearing rumors that we're about to get a massive "no way" response from the California DOJ just weeks we filed demands for information under the California Public Records Act after their colossal data breach a few weeks back.
It's CRITICAL that Gavin Newsom and AG Rob Bonta are held accountable for putting targets on the back of gun owners in California, and we have to be ready to fight back when we get our response.
The Department of Justice has an army of lawyers chomping at the bit to fight back and block us from holding their boss accountable, which means it's even more critical for us to be prepared -- and we still need to raise about $2200 more to prepare our eventual response.
Thank you to Elite CCW & Firearms Training for hosting our July Meeting!
Everyone had a blast at last night's OCGO Monthly meeting hosted by Elite CCW & Firearms Training in Fountain Valley!
We discussed all things happening in the OCGO PAC, upcoming elections, and the latest 2A news.
Owner of Elite CCW & Firearms Training, Mike Duda, spoke about the CCW process and the great things they are doing to educate and train the CCW holders of Orange County.
He also graciously raffled an Olight to one of our lucky members as well!
The group finished with a tour of the facility including their Instruction Training Room, Simulation Training Room, 4 Lane Range, and Tactical Shoot House.
Be sure to join us at our August 24th meeting at Kovert in Irvine! Bring a friend!

November is right around the corner! Do you have any local candidates you want us to endorse or are you a candidate?
Endorsing candidates is an important part of the political process and is a big step towards Orange County Gun Owners' goal of electing only people who respect our Second Amendment rights.
For OCGO, every day is election season and the next election is always right around the corner. OCGO is a unique political organization because we focus entirely on local Second Amendment issues. Because we are unique, it is important to understand the specifics of who, how, and why we endorse.
OCGO endorses only county and city level candidates. We do not endorse state or federal candidates because other organizations do a great job already and we do not want to duplicate efforts. We only endorse candidates for City Council, School Board, County Board of Supervisors, Sheriff, and other local boards like water, fire, etc.
OCGO’s Criteria for Endorsements:
The candidate’s stance on the Second Amendment and Second Amendment issues. Does the candidate oppose gun bans, ammunition registration, and accessory bans? Does the candidate support issuing carry permits for the purpose of self-defense? And will the candidate do more than just say they support the Second Amendment? We want to support people who will actively work to protect and restore our Second Amendment rights.
The viability of the candidate’s campaign. By endorsing a candidate, we are asking our members and supporters to donate money and time to their campaign. Our endorsement is not just a voting guide. We will not ask our members to give time and money to a candidate who does not have the proper infrastructure in place to win or has not done enough to raise the money needed to get their message to voters.
The candidate’s character. Even if a candidate is pro-Second Amendment and has a viable campaign, if they have done something that is serious and verifiable to prove they do not have the character to hold public office, we will not endorse. How can we trust a candidate to do the right thing on the Second Amendment if they cannot do the right thing personally or professionally?
If you have a favorite local candidate or are a candidate, please contact us or email [email protected] We want to make sure candidates get our questionnaire and meet with each candidate. Once a candidate is endorsed, OCGO will encourage our members to volunteer for and donate to endorsed candidates. OCGO spends money on behalf of our endorsed candidates to make sure their voters vote for them.

This is a guest post written by IEGO Board Member Michael Cooke.
Inland Empire Gun Owners allows me to actively promote our Second Amendment rights within the community. I am honored to be an Advisory Board member of IEGO and serve as Outreach Coordinator. I’m passionate about preserving and protecting those rights, with a unique perspective regarding my right to keep and bear arms which has led me into Second Amendment activism.
